MORE ABOUT F3A

A course designed for the real world.

Agriculture has the worst rate of worker fatal injury of the main industrial sectors: 20 times higher than the all industry rate

In the event of a serious accident on your land or farm involving one of your employees, could you deal with an acute trauma situation before the air ambulance arrives?  If no, this course is for you…

Farm focused first aid is a practical training event on how to deal with life threatening incidents and accidents which may occur in and around a farm environment.

The 3-hour course covers the following areas:

  • The aims of first aid, scene safety and the role of the First Aider

  • Assessing a casualty using the Primary Survey

  • Unresponsive and breathing casualty - recovery position

  • Unresponsive and not breathing casualty CPR using current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines

  • AED (Automated External Defibrillator) - Rationale for using the AED, safe use, reporting/recording, handover to the emergency services

  • Treatment of crush injury, amputation, impalement and severe bleeding

  • The training is delivered by qualified health care professionals registered with the HCPC and experienced instructors and casualty actors; each attendee has the opportunity act both as the lead first aider and as a helper/bystander.
